Privacy Policy of Cheap Metal Detector

Some of you may be asking, "What is a Privacy Policy?".

Privacy policy is actually a special page of a website or blog that informs all visitors, users or guests about how their information are being gathered. It sounds alarming but nothing to worry about. It's because the data gathered from your computer is limited to any of your confidential or personal information.

To explain it more in clear details, my Cheap Metal Detector blog is currently being monetized by a third-party company. It is called, "Google Adsense" which is a company that serves advertisements.

Now, assuming that you have visited this blog for the first time. When the ads got served, it also automatically installed a "Cookie" file into your PC's temporary folder at the same time.

What is a Cookie File?

A cookie file is a very small file containing encrypted data. Only the company owners knows how to decrypt the data that has been collected.

Once the cookie file is in place, it will start to gather data particularly about your interest. Since you are interested with metal detectors, the majority of the ads that will be displayed are all related about this product.

For more information about cookie file, I suggest that you should read it here.

How Cheap Metal Detector Collects your Data?

As a requirement, every website or blog owners are required to inform their visitors on how their data and information are being collected.

To abide with the rule, here are the following services that I use:

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free tool owned by Google which is used to track various activities of all visitors into the site. All information gathered is for the sole purpose of improving the site.

When it comes to how Google Analytics utilizes cookie, I recommend that you should read Google Analytics' Privacy Policy.

Google Webmaster Tool

This is a tool used by most website and blog owners to find errors and fix SEO related issues. But aside from this, it offers Search Analytics containing some basic information about the visitors. These data includes the number of clicks, demographic location, device used for accessing and search terms.

Google Adsense

As I already mentioned above, Google Adsense is an advertising affiliate partner that serves advertisements on this blog. I gain commissions when a visitor visits any of the displayed ads.

Google Adsense ads collects data via cookies which has already been described above. To learn more about how Google Adsense uses cookie files, you should read their own Advertising Privacy Page.

Amazon

Amazon is another third affiliate partner where I gain commissions from the sales of their products. But unlike Google Adsense, cookies will only be generated into your PC when you visit Amazon's sales page.

AddThis

AddThis is a free social tool that allows visitors to share this blog on various social medias such as FaceBook, Twitter, Pinterest and etc... The data gathered are simply statistical number of visitors who shared it.

Feedburner

Feedburner is an email subscription service which I implemented on this blog. What it does is that, it will automatically send the latest published post right into your email. If you want this kind of service then you have to submit your email into the subscription form.

External Links and Internal Links

As you browse the contents of this blog, you will encounter two types of links which are the external and the internal. So what's the difference between the two?

An internal link is a type of link that falls on the root domain of this site. So as long as you are visiting internal links, you are covered by the privacy policy stated on this page.

External link is a type of link with different root domain. I do not own them. The reason why I linked them is that, they provide further information about the discussion. They may also have different privacy policy statements so I suggest that you should also read it.

GDPR

GDPR stands for "General Data Protection Regulation". This is a strict policy implemented by EU where all website owners must declare and explain to their visitors about how they collect data from them which I already did on this page. In addition to this, every visitor of this blog can make a request for the deletion of any of their gathered information. Since there is no program to make the job easy for me, I have to do it manually. Thus, you have to contact me.

Finally, this privacy policy was last updated on May 25, 2018.
